JD Vance Plane ‘Emergency’: What We Know

Ohio Senator JD Vance’s plane made an “emergency” landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday afternoon.
Taylor Van Kirk, a spokesperson for Vance, told Newsweek in an email, that the pilot “advised there was a malfunction with the door seal.” The malfunction allegedly caused the flight crew to declare an emergency and return to Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport.
“As soon as the issue was resolved, the plane returned to its originally planned flight path back to Cincinnati,” the spokesperson said.
Local journalist Matt Smith reported that after the emergency landing, an airport spokesperson said the aircraft taxied without incident “under its own power,” and departed the airport for its second time today.
Vance, who is running as Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick, was flying in Trump Force Two.

This is a developing story and will be updated with additional information.
